Tim Rajeff gets the ghost.

2.  Tim is one of the best casting instructors in the world.

3. Hanging out with Tim is really, really fun.

4. Catching bonefish, barracuda and permit is pretty cool too.

Winter Is Coming, So Is Andros South

Andros South Bonefish.  Cam Miller Photo

I’m looking forward to my hosted trips in 2012.  At this point, I’m booked solid for my week on the Dean River in British Columbia and my week in Alaska.  However, I do have some availability for my February trip to Andros South Lodge in the Bahamas.  We’ll be chasing huge bonefish, barracuda and the occasional permit.  Andros South is one of the finest saltwater destinations in the world.  Outside of world-class fishing, the lodge offers a comfortable atmosphere, incredible cuisine, and all the beer you can drink.  –It’s a great escape from the winter!  Let me know if I can answer any questions or help you plan your trip.

BC West, Dean River

Steelhead with Tom Larimer 8/11 -8/18
I just returned with a group of anglers from BC West last week.  We had ideal water conditions, great weather and a ton of steelhead around. Epic is too weak of a word to describe our trip.  Both the upper river and lower river fished extremely well.  Over all, it was my best trip to the Dean yet.  I’m already missing the hell out of the river (and Belinda’s cooking) -and can’t wait to return to the Dean in 2012.
Only three spots left and will be booked solid by Saturday, August 27th

Steelhead & Salmon with Jeff Hickman 7/14 - 7-21
Larimer Outfitter Guide Jeff Hickman also hosted a trip to BC West in early July.  This is a unique time to be on the Dean because there are both steelhead and Chinook salmon in the river. Although they didn’t put huge numbers of fish on the beach, they made up for it in size.  There were many big fish in Hickman’s week!  Of course, they lost a ton of fish because you’d be hard pressed to find a hotter fish than a July steelhead on the Dean.
Only Five Spots Left!

Alaska West, Kanektok River
Salmon & Rainbows with Tom Larimer 6/22 -6/29
I spent an awesome hosted week of Spey fishing for kings at Alaska West this summer.  After a few days of the best salmon fishing we’ve ever seen, we decided to check out what else the Kanektok had to offer.  We were blown away!  We had incredible mouse fishing for leapord rainbows, chums on switch rods and beautiful grayling on dry flies.  It really opened my eyes to how amazing that fishery is.  Not to mention, the guide & lodge staff knocked it out of the park.  It was the most memorable trip Alaska yet... And I can't wait to get back.
Only two spots left and will be booked solid on Saturday, August 27

Andros South, Bahamas
Bonefish, Permit & Barracuda with Tom Larimer  2/25 -3/3
I spent a week of “re-con” at Andros South Lodge last winter and it was the most relaxing fishing adventure I’ve ever taken.  After most fishing trips, I feel like someone just flogged me with a 2X4! (Anadromous fishing tends to put me in “death march” mode.)  After fishing at Andros, I was totally relaxed and satisfied.  The program at Andros South is totally dialed in… I can’t say enough about the staff, the lodge, the guides and the fishing.  If you dream of beautiful white sand flats, monster bonefish, and cold Bahamian beer during our cold dreary northwest winter, you’ll love this trip!  Six spots left!

Four Spots Left for Andros South 2012

Are you tired of the cold, rainy weather we've had this spring?  Imagine eighty-five degree sun, beautiful white sand flats, huge bonefish and the best fly fishing lodge in the Bahamas.  Sounds pretty good right about now!

Now is the time to be thinking about your winter vacation for next year.  Consider joining me on an epic flats fishing trip to Andros South Lodge.  We'll be chasing some of the biggest bonefish in the world.  Bring your ten weight because you'll get shots at giant barracuda and permit as well!  I'm headed south from February 25th to March 3rd, 2012.

After spending a week at Andros South this winter, I can honestly say it was the finest saltwater experience I've ever had.  The lodge was stellar, the food was out of this world, the guides were incredible and the fishing was off the charts.  Visit my website for more trip details or to see more photos  from my 2011 trip.  I only have four spots left to fill for 2012.  Please contact me via email or give me a call at (541) 490-9446 if you're interested in pursuing giant bonefish under the sun next winter.

Sincerely,

Tom Larimer

Bahamas Bonefish Day Three

So far, my trip to Andros South in search of bonefish has been incredible.  In the past, I never considered taking a destination fly fishing trip with the primary focus on bonefish.  After all, I’m a steelhead dude… I like big fish that pull hard and jump high.  I love the fact that we earn every steelhead, we suffer for it.  In many ways, suffering is just a right of passage.

Down here in the Bahamas, “every-ting ok mon…”  The most suffering I’ve done was my beer wasn’t quit as cold as I like it for the boat ride home after the days fishing.  (Fortunately, one of the guides owns a bar conveniently located next to the dock where the beer is always 38 degrees) It’s about the most laid back place I’ve ever fished.  The local Bahamians possess a refreshing calmness about everything in their life.  Every one of them seams to be unbelievably content.  Honestly, it has a way of rubbing off on you while you’re here.

As for the fishing, all I can say is the week has been filled with blistering hot fish, many shots at monster singles and doubles and tons of laughter.  Laughter is in there because I can’t stop smiling while I’m here.  The guides are great, the lodge is first class, and the folks fishing here are all loving it.  It’s been one of the most enjoyable fishing experiences I’ve ever had.

It's All Good Mon... Bahamas Bonefish

It was thirty-seven degrees and raining sideways yesterday morning in Hood River.  This morning it was 80 degrees and sunny in the Bahamas.  At the moment, I’m thoroughly enjoying a good buzz from the local beer and a day of super fun bonefishing at Andros South Lodge.  I’ve traveled down here to scope out the fishery and to learn more about the lodge.  Hopefully, we'll be hosting a trip here next winter.

I’ll be here all week chasing bonefish, barracuda and a wide variety of other toothy critters on the flats.  Stay tuned for updates on my week.  So far, it’s been amazing!  Great food, great company and great fishing…  After a cold, wet Northwest winter, it’s exactly what the doctor ordered.
